Ok, it's nearing the end of January and there has been tons of madness happening in my life. A quick summary.
1. Flew down Limbang, a province in Sarawak, with my family to attend my brother's 2nd wedding banquet for his bride who is from Malaysia. Had to touch down in Brunei (my 1st time visiting Brunei) and drive abt 2 hours to get to the customs to enter Malaysia. An interesting experience.
2. My uncle flew in last week with his Shanghainese wife, for their solemnization ceremony in Singapore, which is this afternoon. Met my new aunt in Dec when they came down Singapore for a formal introduction and banquet celebration for the relatives in Singapore. They've been staying at my place and I have had a good time enjoying the Shanghai dumplings that my chinese aunt made. A really nice lady. The odd part - I felt strange addressing her as "Aunt" when she is just 1 year older than me.
3. Faye came down Singapore recently. Dying to meet her since she left last year for Shanghai to join ZY. Looking forward to meeting her this Wednesday for my corset trial, even though I have no inkling whatsoever what the whole package is about. I think I shall allow myself to be "enlightened" this Wednesday.
4. Literally had a "bodyguard" with me the whole weekend to guard me when I went to Chinatown to exchange for Thai baht. Can be kinda scary when you are not used to carrying tons of money with you. Thanks "Uncle" Jin Hai!
5. Calvin and Grace got married on 13 January 2007. Blessed to be a witness in their holy matrimony. My 1st time seeing Calvin sing a love song for his bride. Mushy yes, but extremely heartwarming. Knowing Calvin, I knew he meant it 100% when he sang that song to Grace.
6. Flying off this week to Bangkok with my family. 8 of us in all. Excited but haven't really decided what to do when we are there. Just been a little over my neck with all the work and deadlines, plus the family gatherings and celebrations.
Not to mention, I received a few updates from my friends - one now working in GV Gold Class which I thought was a pretty cool job to have, another working in a hair salon at Changi Airport of all places! Might pay him a visit this Thursday if there's time before our flight departure.
Meanwhile, there's heaps more to be done. Packing for Bangkok, clearing work deadlines, spending the last day or so with my uncle and his wife before they fly tomorrow back to Shanghai, and of course, my work claims and clients that can never be contactable! Haha...
Life cannot be more eventful than this.
