The Dreadful Dentist - Confronted.

Yes, I finally visited the dreaded "D" this afternoon for a dental check-up and teeth clean-up. Been procrastinating my dental visit for the longest time since last year. I mean, to face the horrifying white dentist and have him/her poke my teeth with his/her countless sharp mental gadgets and the nerve-wrecking sounds that start when those mental 'weapons' touch my precious pearly whites, NO WAY man! Not to mention the very unpleasant taste and feel I have in my mouth. Totally vulnerable. To me, the dentist is just the "devil" in white!!!

Ok, so I exaggerate. But it's real fear. Have always had this huge phobia for dentists ever since I'm a kid. I remember every year, the stoopid school made it a compulsory affair for all the pupils to visit the dentist. And every time I see the dentist, I will just cringe and get butterflies in my tummy. It's worse than me having to do a public performance, that's how afraid I am of the teeth doctor. Visiting the dentist is no different from a short-term prison sentence I have to face.

And for today's ordeal, I had to fork out $80 for it too! Talk about paying to suffer. On a positive note, I didn't even realise I have a tiny decay in my back tooth and had to do a mini filing. Most, most uncomfortable feeling. Thank God I visited the dentist before the decay gets worse. Would have totally died if it's a bad decay. Even now, I can still feel the pain at my back tooth. Gross!

Thank God that it's only a yearly affair! I am soooo gonna floss and brush my teeth as frequently as I can from now on. Just to keep it clean and white and most importantly, prolong my next dental visit.
