"Shall We Dance?"

Dance has been coming up in my mind quite a lot recently. Contemplating on taking up jazz and ballroom dancing.

Now that I am two weeks away from becoming an official member of the "Association of the Un-Employed", this might be a great opportunity to pick up dance once again before my next vocation hits in, which for the record, is still an unknown.

Having said that, I am nervous AND excited at the same time. It's intriguing when you do not know what is ahead of you. Kinda gives me a sense of adventure and excitement, not knowing what exactly lies ahead. Perhaps it's exactly this that makes me leave my job in the first place. There was nothing to look for - life was very routine to say the least, and in a big way, life is being zapped out of me. I needed L.I.F.E back.

The future may seem unclear to me at this moment, yet at the same time, I know that God is clear. He is extremely clear of what is ahead of me. With a mighty God like that, who is at the same time, a loving Father to me, what is there to be afraid of?

My Father knows my future.

Just like Dance. Jesus is leading me. He is my dance partner. As I learn to dance with him, I am also learning to let him lead me in every step, learning to trust my partner as he leads me in the ballroom. There will be uncertainties of course, not knowing if I may step on my partner's toes, not knowing if he is able to lead me correctly, not knowing if he will stop once the music stops etc etc.

Perhaps that's why in every dance, a complete unwavering trust in your partner is of absolute importance. You are dancing with someone who you need to believe in. No room for doubt, no room for uncertainty. You need to be confident of your partner. You need to believe that he will lead you through, until the music stops.

Likewise, I need to be confident of my Lord, I need to believe that He will lead me through all the steps of my life - until the music stops. Until my journey of life stops. That's the challenge. That's my challenge.

Having said that, here's my thought for the day -
"Shall we dance?"

Let's! Dance that is.

Hello Lina! How are YOU? I know it's been a long time since we chatted but I wanted to say that you should take up dance classes!

There's a new movie coming out soon called "Take the Lead" starring Antonio Banderas (check out the trailer at www.apple.com/trailers). As with most dance movies, I'm sure I'll be inspired [albeit temporarily] to take up classes.

God/Jesus truly is our dance partner in life and learning to trust him to lead us through this dance called Life is essential to making through in once piece and to be the best dancer on the floor!

Take care and hear from you soon.

Cheers,
Darrell
